Hong Kong
We left home at 2:00 am on March 14. After a 16 hour flight we arrived in Hong Kong. Chuck And Chris Chin were on our flight. He used to be principal at Ballard High. We knew them from our Mediterranean cruise. They had plans to meet Cecil Leung who used to own the Arco across from Franklin, so we tagged along. Cecil met us at the airport and took us to his $1M dollar two bdrm condo. It had a nice view, but was smaller than the units at Vinemaple. I would guess it was around 700 sf. The condo dues were $1,400 per month. Hong Kong real estate is amongst the highest in the world. He visits there every 6 weeks. After a tour around the condo and lunch we headed for the cruise terminal. The subway required several transfers, but was easy to use. The hard part was when we go to the final station we had a hard time finding the shuttle bus to the terminal. Similar to Japan, the subway terminals are located in shopping centers. We finally got there at 4:00 pm which was 10:00 am the next day Seattle time. Mom was so tired she sleep thru and missed dinner.
