Chef's Kitchen

Today was our only full day at sea. (river) it's the widest river I've ever seen. The big tour of the day was the kitchen. In a typical week they consume 8,500 pounds of meat, 12,000 pounds of vegetables and 18,000 eggs. On average there are 1,280 guests and 600 crew.

They also had a golf chipping contest where you chip plastic golf balls and try and hit the dolphin statue in the pool (I missed). There was also a ping pong tournament. I was eliminated in the first round. Maybe it's time to hang it up. I can't even beat a bunch of old guys.

Tonight was formal night. The menu included king crab and rack of lamb. I had both. Mom had a steak salad and crab legs, also two entrees. We didn't have any trouble finishing. We sat with a couple from the Netherlands and Australia. Both were going on continuous back to back cruises.

Tomorrow we will be in Charlottetown, home of Green Gables. They are one hour ahead of the eastern time zone. I didn't know there was such a thing.
